It has plenty of features to keep track on your workout stats and it also has a built-in GPS so that is not purely dependent on your smartphone. It also keeps track on your heart rate and it has a capability of storing 300 songs on the device alone. You can use this without with your smartphone.

Personalized Guidance and Insights

The Fitbit ionic watch is fully customizable including all your fitness activities and it can remind you on certain time of the day on what goals you must finish. It can also make an insight on your health if you are sleeping adequate and monitor your heartrate while you sleep.

Stores Music

Yes it stores you music and it is not phone dependent. Even without your phone you can play music while working out. Then play it wirelessly via the bluetooth connection. It also has a Pandora app that is pre-installed on the watch itself.

Built-in GPS

Your phone is not nearby your watch? Dont worry the Fitbit Ionic has a built-in GPS that gets the gps coordinates on the watch itself. It will not depend on your phones GPS.

Swim Tracking

Not only it does track your running stats, but it also tracks your swimming stats because of its water resistant design that can withstand submerging the watch.

Pros:

Would I buy this watch?

If I really need the features that will make my day to day fitness regime I would love to buy this. But for the price maybe not. It is still expensive (as of this writing). I know that some smartwatch has some of this features at a cheaper price.

Who would I recommend this to?

For those who are fitness nerds that don't care much about the price, but focuses on the features and quality of the watch itself.
