Sony XBR77A1E HDTV Features, Specs and Manual

Overview

This is the Sony OLED 55 Inch HDTV from the A1E series lineup. Provides a blacker contrast thanks to the OLED panel and HDR Processor helps on producing excellent image quality. Together with the acoustic surface audio technology that uses the whole screen as a speaker provides ultimate movie cinematic experience. The user interface is powered by Android, expect great flexibility on this HDTV.

Features

OLED Screen

With OLED you can expect deeper blacks compared to the normal LED screen. This is because every pixel has led on it and the black simply switches of the pixel.

Screen Speakers

The whole screen panel acts like a huge speaker making it more louder and immersive listening experience.

4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme

Automatically analyze any object that is portrayed on the screen to optimize the needed contrast and adjust it automatically to perfect each scene.

Triluminos Display

This helps colors to be much more vibrant and true to life. Replicating it to almost the exact color to what you see on the actual thing.

4K X-Reality Pro

Process every image or scene to be much more clearer and sharper. This feature adds up to the realistic feel of the screen.

Powered by Android

Just like a smartphone this HDTV can also install apps and games directly onto the HDTV itself. It also gives easy access to channels or save your favorites easily.

Pros:

  • Excellent OLED picture quality
  • Deeper Blacks
  • Sleek HDTV design
  • Sound quality is awsome
  • Easy to use interface

Cons:

  • Android operating system sometimes lags
  • It is on the expensive side
  • It has some apps compatibility
  • Remote is oddly designed

Verdict:

The highlight of this HDTV is the OLED panel screen the main advantages of having a OLED screen is that it has the deepest blacks that you can get resulting into a excellent picture quality that no LED tv can replicate. But there are some disadvantages too, OLED can cause "burn in" if it is displaying the image over and over again on longer period of time. I also hope the android operating system can be improved on future firmware updates (if available in the future) cause the HDTV have some app compatibility issues.
