This HDTV is the 55 inch version from TCL's 6 series lineup. With 4K resolution and HDR capbilities further enhanced with the help of Dolby Vision. Together with Roku the TCL 5 series is easy to use and it has the ability to access online streaming videos and play directly onto the HDTV.

More detail compared to standard HD that is good for ultra high definition videos or online streaming content. A total of 3840 by 2160 resolution (2160p).

Roku TV

When connected to the internet through the home wifi connection this HDTV can easily access online streaming video just like the original roku tv box. This HDTV is pre-built with roku. Access unlimited online videos like from Youtube or Netflix.

HDR

Balanced between dark and white contrast for more detail and life like quality. The TCL has a HDR Pro Gamma engine that further enhance the normal HDR capability for more wider contrast and detail.

IPQ Engine and NBP Photon Technology

This enhances the color production of the HDTV and improves the quality of it. The NBP Photon Technology allows for wider color gamut spectrum colors to be able to reproduce close to the realistic scene.

96 Zone Contrast Control

Pros:

Excellent picture quality contrast and color production
Cheap price for high quality tv

Cons:

16 Watts of speaker output may not be enough for someone
The local dimming is sketchy not up to the point

Verdict

The TCL 5 series may be one of the cheapest HDTV to offer excellent performance usually found on much more expensive known brand HDTV on the market today. Expect good performing quality with wide color production. With Roku as its smart user interface you can watch almost unlimited supply of online streaming video content. Although there are few downsides like the speakers are not loud enough and the local dimming is not performing well and I hope this can be fix on future firmware updates. Overall the TCL 5 Series gets good rating for the price and performance and the looks and style of this HDTV feels like it is premium or much expensive.
