Mostly smartphones today can do what GPS navigation devices can do but with a costs. With the Garmin Nuvi 57 you are completely independent from fees and monthly charges from internet data usage from you network. The Garmin Nuvi 57 has lifetime free updates and foursquare integration as long you update it regularly. The only downside for the Nuvi 57 is the low resolution screen and you may find it hard to read if you zoom the map out.
