Canon EOS RP 3380C052 Features, Specs and Manual

Overview

This is the cheaper version of the EOS R mirrorless camera that is made by Canon. It features a full frame sensor with 24.6 megapixels of total resolution and it has the 4K video recording capability. Fast focusing speeds thanks to its Dual-Pixel technology with a whopping 4,799 of focusing points which can be selected individually. It has the latest DIGIC 8 processor that helps on image and video processing much faster and with the canon signature colors.

EOS RP Top 5 Features

1. Full Frame 24.6 Megapixel CMOS Sensor

Full frame sensor can get more image in a single picture compared to crop APS-C type of sensors. It is also best in lowlight conditions since it has a larger sensor.

2. DIGIC 8

The heart and brain of the whole camera that process all images and videos. Canon is known for its color and expect the EOS RP will perform as its best.

3. Dual Pixel Focusing

It is also double faster in term of focusing and it can focus on all 4,799 focus points which can be chosen automatically or individually.

4. 4K Video Recording

4K is a must on vloggers and it seems it is the standard quality nowadays. The EOS RP can shoot 60 frames per second on 4K in full frame.

5. ISO 100-40000

The higher the ISO the better it will perform especially on low light conditions with less noise.

Verdict:

The Canon EOS RP is a great alternative to the EOS R if you are a little bit short of the budget. The most important is it has a full frame sensor and almost same capabilities with the EOS R minus some of the features noticeably the built quality is not metal and the weather sealing is gone. There are some issues on low light conditions especially on gray colors because the sensor cannot handle them properly making a slight noticeable noise even at wide open. Hopefully this can be fixed on future firmware updates but as for now you can just use some post processing and editing to minimize those noise.
